You can tell that Annette and Paul are very much in love. We knew this from the moment we met them in a quiet country pub near Bromsgrove. It’s a funny story, actually – we were waiting in one part of the pub and they were in another section. Both of us thought we were late, but we found each other in the end! This led to their big day at Dumbleton Hall this summer.
We were really looking forward to this wedding and everything was set for a wedding day to remember.
There really were some very special moments during this wedding and a couple of firsts for us as wedding videographers.
To start with, we’ve never seen an owl delivering the rings at a ceremony (that was pretty cool!) We’ve started to gain a bit of a reputation for our work with animals in our films. We get lots of positive comments from potential clients (and other folks), who appreciate the use of a cute dog (or cat!) in a video.
That’s cool – but we’ve never had the opportunity to film an owl before, especially not want delivering wedding rings!
I should probably explain this a little more: the owl literally flew onto the falcon glove on the best man’s hand and promptly delivered the rings. Needless to say, there were lots of “ohs” and “has” from the audience, and we managed to capture this moment in all of it’s glory!
The owl was actually featured on the TV show Don’t Tell The Bride! and was provided by the The Owl Ring Bearer company.
Our second “first” (see what I did there?) came about during this speeches. We’ve never had a bridal baby confession during the speeches! That was a nice moment to film.
Annette and Paul’s picturesque ceremony took place at St Peter’s Church, Dumbleton. This is where the now notorious owl spectacle took place…as well as their vows, of course!
The rather grand Dumbleton Hall was host to the reception. If you haven’t been to Dumbleton Hall, it’s based near Cheltenham, Gloucestershire and is one of the Cotswolds best venues! I must say that the whole event was very well run by the staff there.
Did I mention we love filming weddings?
